Tokyo’s own 80Kidz work their remix magic touch on the already pop perfect track, Cold Dust Girl by Hey Champ. 80Kidz turns the track into a Todd Edwards-esque track including cut up vocals and a smooth synth line that compliments the hook so well.

Jackson Fourgeaud aka Jackson & His Computer Band returns with a remix of the Chilean band, Panico. This is his first remix since remixing Justice pop hit D.A.N.C.E into an epic pastiche opus. Jackson cuts and mashes this Pancio track into what sounds like Aphex Twin as an 80s metal band. I can’t wait for Jackson & His Computer Band’s next album.

Chromeo work their remixing skills on Vampire Weekend’s “The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance” to turn it into a dance floor ready track. I remember A-Trak dropping this back in August in Toronto at the Time Festival and everyone goin’ nuts. I love the sequenced bassline and the chorus that sounds so Police “Don’t stand! Don’t Stand! Don’t stand so close to me!”. Tune into the mtvU awards show to see Chromeo and Vampire Weekend performing live together. It has been quite a year for both of these bands.

Thanks to the all mighty Pitchfork for hooking everyone up with this great remix of Cut Copy by Hercules and Love Affair. What a great angular bassline. It totally has a 70s No Wave, ESG/James Chance vibe.

AutoErotique was once known as VNDLSM, the banger-tastic Toronto duo that brought you those great remixes of Rihanna & Chaka Khan. Keith, 1/2 of AutoErotique sent me over this bootleg remix of Lykke Li’s “Little Bit”, good stuff. The duo was just recently signed to Mr. Aoki’s Dim Mak Records and will be releasing a new EP soon. Let’s see what these Torontonians have in store for the dance world.

Asian Dan Interview: Autoerotique
1. Who is Autoerotique? Why the name change from VNDLSM?
Autoerotique is Diet Dave & Keith Lite, they are the younger cousins of VND and his friend LSM
2. What is like to be part of the Toronto music scene?
Toronto is amazing in terms of music. We have so many amazing groups\acts breaking out, Thunder Heist, Nacho Lovers, Jokers of the Scene (Ottawa is close enough to toronto), of course MSTRKRFT & Deadmau5 to name a few.
