Asian Dan

DVNO returns with the second installment of his mixtape series entitled “DVNOLANDIA”. Asian Dan premiered his first mixtape “Moonlighting” last year. With the help of Birdy Nam Nam’s DJ Pone, DVNO put together this eclectic mixtape of 15 unreleased original songs plus a few bootlegs, remixes and extrapolations of tracks by fellow Parisian artists such as Jus†ice, Para One, Chateau Marmont and Singtank. Stream and download DVNOLANDIA below and catch up with DVNO and learn what he has in the works.

“Dynamically, it is a roller coaster ride. From beginning to end, the mixtape builds and breaks in every genre you could imagine. While listening, it’s hard not to hear everything from Classic to Psychedelic to Prog Rock to late 90’s Hip-Hop to Dance Music. The composition is truly unique in it’s style. Teaming up with DJ Pone on the decks, DVNO captures a sound that isn’t really prevalent anymore. It breaks every cliché of the electronic genre right now. It’s rebellious without even trying.”

Catching up with DVNO:

1. Where in the world is DVNO ?

I was in DVNOLANDIA for a while (Divinolândia is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil). Now, I’m back and I’m locked in a basement somewhere in Paris, from dusk till dawn, polishing songs and writing down lyrics for my forthcoming album while not spinning back to back with So-Me in the sweet moisture of a club . (We have that sort of monthly party called Manigance going on here and there)

Asian Dan’s Guest List : Jonti Top 10 of 2012

Earl Sweatshirt – Chum

Everything bout this track is great. There is a truth and confusion of his surrounding’s that hits you over the head. I’ve listened to this nearly everyday since it’s release.

BRKFST Club – The Fellowship

Frikin love this track. From the Grizzly bear sample to every stellar verse, interaction and self shot playful video shot for the song.

Flying Lotus – Getting There feat. Niki Randa

Until The Quiet Come’s was instantly my favorite Flying Lotus release of his career so far and thats saying something! Something about the tranquility and focus of it mixed with the bangers was something special to me. Im sure when everyones mind flipped when they heard this for the first time on the short film and saw the now famous accompanying dance.

Asian Dan Q&A : Club Cheval + Bromance #3

Club Cheval are some serious rave bros bringing back some serious 90s rave vibes but shot into hyper-speed all with a touch of that French electronic finesse. The quartet recently released a new track entitled “Now U Realize” on Bromance Records. Check out the track and a new track from Brodinski & Louisahhh as well.

Asian Dan Q&A : Club Cheval

1. Who is Club Cheval ?

Club Cheval is a weird mix between a collective, a band of best friends, a band, a dj crew, a laboratory, a philosophic club. It’s like fusioning four different brains in order to achieve ur objectives. This is Club Cheval.

2. How would you describe your music?

It’s always been hard for us to describe our style. To make it simple, the music of Club Cheval is the result of a looong journey deep inside each of us’ memory. From Panteros’s love for belgian techno to Canblaster’s fantasy about japanese stabs. From Myd’s passion for pop to Sam Tiba’s knowledge of ghetto music. When we gather to make music, this all merges into one big musical maelstrom. If we had to chose one adjective to describe our style, it would be EPIC.

3. What was your first musical memory?

The Sub created by the contact between the placenta and our ears, back in the days, in our maker’s belly.
