Rory Phillips & Dubka : Don’t Stop
Rory Phillips teams up with Martin Dubka to produce this full on boogie jam entitled “Don’t Stop”. It is a full on funk jam that salutes George Duke, Herbie and all the funkmaster greats. Just groove with it.

King Krule is releasing his latest single “Rock Bottom” via Rinse on September 24. “Octopus” is the b-side to the single, a song sounds like it is the theme song for a man that does not get what he wants out of Life and just accepts that he needs to just take it as it comes. It is yet another melancholy anthem from this young talent that hopefully will just pump out more quality music.
PSYCHO-DELIC MAN. Tame Impala’s “Lonerism” is an amazing album and I cannot stop listening to it. Y’all should too. Cool.
Egyptian Hip Hop debuts a second track from their upcoming LP “Good Don’t Sleep” entitled “Yoro Diallo”. It is a more straightforward and accessible tune than their first track “SYH”. Egyptian Hip Hop moves forward into a smooth jazz realm with “Yoro Diallo”, just imagine if Chick Corea jammed with Steely Dan in the late 80s – this would be a product of that session.
Machinedrum takes this unreleased Boards of Canada tack from live bootleg from Warp Records 10th Year Anniversary party in 1999 and beefs up the drums and adds a few synths. He transforms the tune into 11 mins of pure vibes, enjoy.
George Fitzgerald’s ManMakeMusic is about to unleash four tunes from this new producer simply known as “U”. “EAH” is the first cut off the release and makes a very distinct impression with its production and style. Who is U?
Breakbot is on the verge of unleashing his full length album “By Your Side” care of the Ed Banger Records family. “Another Dawn” features his frequent collaborator Irfane and surely does not disappoint. Imagine some serious Hall & Oates and Todd Rundgren soulful and contemplative love song vibes infused with the slickest funk vibes. This is some real feels….

Chateu Marmont’s latest single “Wargames” is part yacht rock and part 70s prog rock, an unlikely combination that works so well. Just imagine Giorgio Moroder working with ELO on a score for some 70s heist movie – this would be the opening credits music. Check out the music video that documents their rock and roll travels in America. Their full length album “The Maze” is out soon.
Summer maybe on its way out but Brooklyn’s Tony Castles are trying to keep those summer vibes alive with their latest single “One Tone Man” off of their upcoming Sharon Stone EP. “One Tone Man” is full of tight chord stabs and hits but is still able to keep a lofty and breezy vibe with falsetto vocals and drum and bass grooves. Stream the Sharon Stone EP now.

Manchester’s Illum Sphere returns with “Birthday” via the Young Turks fam. I first heard of Illum Sphere via his fantastic Flying Lotus-esque remix of Bjork’s “Hidden Place”. “Birthday” explores Illum Sphere’s take on a twisted k-hole filter house track as it spins into a controlled chaos. Definitely a track that catches you off guard on a very good way.
