Housse de Racket are a French pop rock duo in the vain of Phoenix meets the whole new Ivy Indie scene of Chester French (Harvard), Vampire Weekend (Columbia) & Hey Champ (Princeton). They are opening for a few Jamie Lidell dates in Europe. Gonzales remixed their single “Oh Yeah” turning it into a track that sounds like a soulful Daft Punk’s “Teachers”.
Will someone please get me a Lemur Pad? 🙂 Justice’s live setup has become quite elaborate, almost as cool as Daft Punk’s Moog-tastic setup. I am very excited about A Cross the Universe but I wonder what Justice has in store after. Was their Rio show really their last “live” show? Justice x Kanye collab on 808’s and Heartbreaks?
Chromeo work their magic 80s pop touch to turn this Treasure Fingers’ disco tune into a Hall & Oates’ tinged track. Do the marshmallow and the electric slide. I can’t wait for the Chromeo remix of Vampire Weekend!
After watching Part of the Weekend Never Dies numerous times, I realized that I love anything involving the Dewaele Brothers. Tiga has been a longtime collaborator and I am very excited for his new material.
Hey Champ are a Chicago band that are buddies with France’s Scenario Rock. They are an 80s tinged, 70s songwriting sounding band that are now Lupe approved. You may also remember them for their fantastic remix of Scenario Rock’s “Both Gotta Move On”. Maybe Lupe will sign them like Pharrell signed Chester French. Check out their new track “Cold Dust Girl”, catchy, synth pop goodness 🙂
Tracklist: Digitalism – Anything new The Ting Tings -Great DJ (Calvin Harris Remix) Supreeme – Who we are (Royal Rumble Remix) The Chemical Brothers – Hey Boy, Hey Girl (Soulwax Remix) MSTRKRFT – Bounce (The Bloody Beetroots RMX) Mr. Oizo – Bruce Willis is dead Wiley – Summertime (Crookers Remix) Justice – Stress (Auto Remix) “Born in the budding and booming electronic music scene of Toronto’s trendy Queen West district, Pudge and Russ have fused their love for making people move and music into the entity called Le Pants Optional. These dudes have DJ’d everywhere from big venues like CiRCA and the Drake to Amber in the posh Yorkville area, and they play everything and anything to get you moving from 80’s tunes to reworked house anthems, maybe you’ll even hear La Bamba to bring it down, to bring it right back up. Their love is electro and that is what you will most likely get when you see these high energy Dj’s drop their sets. Maybe you’ll even take your pants off.”
