Gonzales enlists Lone’s warm analogue synth production style to remix his latest single, the disco house track “Knight Moves”. Lone ventures further into his tropicalista vibes by injecting a heavy dose of island percussion that is juxtaposed by his Boards of Canada warm synth sounds and melodies.
Here is a preview of Erol Alkan’s re-working/re-edit/re-visioning of Gonzales’ “Never Stop” out on limited edition vinyl on Phantasy Sound. Erol turns the Rap/Piano track into a disco-techno-electro dancefloor ready tune – nothing revolutionary or different for Mr. Alkan but if anything Erol is preparing us all for the epic “Ivory Tower”.
As the musical genius Gonzales prepares to unleash “Ivory Tower”, his latest venture with the help of the one and only Boys Noize here is his next single “I Am Europe”. A playful “guess-who-am-I” track that lays out all the comical absurdities of Europe. Make sure to check out the music video which is more of a trailer to the epic film that coincides with the album that features Tiga.
Djedjotronic takes on “I am Europe” turning it into a massive “diplomatic techno” track ready to globally dominate any dancefloor.
Looks like there is only one screening of “Ivory Tower” in North America which will be in Brooklyn, so everyone be there for this epic occasion.

“Entertainment isn’t killing music, its music that is killing entertainment.” – Chilly Gonzales
In honour of all things Canadia and anything that is the colours red & white Chilly Gonzales, bestows his piano magic upon us. He reaches into the club banger hip-hop canon from great composers such as 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, and Lil’Wayne and reverse-remixes/revision/re-contextualize/deconstruct and strip them down to their melodic, harmonic and rhythmic core through the use of the piano thus “Pianist Envy” is born. So let’s hope that every Canadian Olympic athlete gets hold of this mixtape for some inspiration to finally reach for the gold. But till then let’s watch as UHMERICA rubs it in all them Canuck’s faces.
Also if Gonzales is ever performing in a town near you – GO. It is a life changing experience, tomorrow night will be my third time seeing him and I cannot wait.
Gonzales turns Housse de Racket’s “Synthétiseur” into a “Broadway/epic-the-world-is-mine” sounding tune. Love the guitar solo at the end – reminds me something Queen would do. When is the Gonzales cover/re-working of Erol Alkan & Boys Noize’s “Waves” coming out? Housse de Racket will be opening for Does It Offend You, Yeah? in the UK next week.

Peaches upcoming album seems to be shaping up into quite a big name collaboration project, with productions from Simian Mobile Disco, Gonzales, Digitalsim, Drums Of Death, and the one and only Dewaele Brothers. It’s like Peaches is the 2009 female version of Tiga’s “Ciao!” with all these collaborations.
