A very bittersweet and trudging remix by Tiga who strips down “Shelter” down to its bare bones. Thus creating a hypnotic and deep track perfect for those after-afterparties.

Friendly Fire’s singer bro does his best Dave Gahan impression on this cover of “Strangelove” for the upcoming Gucci Guilty campaign. A star studded collaboration with a commercial shot by Frank Miller starring Evan Rachel Wood. This is one of my favorite Depeche Mode songs and Friendly Fires adds their touch in a good way to the song. I especially like that they retain the way Dave Gahan says “A-gain” during the bridge.
Yet another fantastic quality 33 minute mix from my favorite Ed Banger DJ, DJ Mehdi. I will let the mix and tracklist speak for itself. Enjoy some exclusive tracks such as some new Carte Blanche remixes and a new Cassius that is a pseudo-dubstep/La Funk Mob sounding track.
Gold Panda’s “Snow & Taxis” is a delicately crafted song that conjures introspective and contemplative thoughts a la Mount Kimbie/Burial/Four Tet but in a very uplifting and positive way with its House-y beats and sparkling glockenspiel. This is a perfect tune to listen to as the summer winds down and the crisp autumn air rolls in.

Classic “banger” remix via the Soulwax boys but still so good and what better to accompany this banger than a super weird and mutated version of the hipster girl filled original video to one of my fav singles of the year, “Best In The Class”.
An amazing remix of a classic 90s slow jam by Groove Theory via Joy Orbison’s protege, George Fitzgerald. A chilled out, UK, off-kiltered, delicate, dance track that echoes and recontextualizes the 90s in the best way possible. Cheers, Mr. Fitzgerald.
The mighty Flying Lotus cannot be stopped. He is a force that is out to prove he is just a constant flow of creativity and sonic goodness. “Cosmogramma” showed us that he is a musical guru with tracks like “Do The Astral Plane” which has been a summer hit for me. As we all wait for a new Friendly Fires album this latest Bugged Out Suck My Deck mix mixed by the trio will have to suffice. The UK trio teams up with the Toronto House duo to produce a track that pays homage to the classic NYC House sound that we all know and love. A fantastic mix by the Mystery Jets boys that opens with 2 of my favorite ELO song and my favorite Todd Rundgren track “I Saw The Light”. This is a great 30 min mix that will kick off your weekend on a good note. Also a little Roxy Music, Genesis, and The Police always does a body good.

Here is a preview of Erol Alkan’s re-working/re-edit/re-visioning of Gonzales’ “Never Stop” out on limited edition vinyl on Phantasy Sound. Erol turns the Rap/Piano track into a disco-techno-electro dancefloor ready tune – nothing revolutionary or different for Mr. Alkan but if anything Erol is preparing us all for the epic “Ivory Tower”.
