Magistrates are a UK band signed to XL Recordings. They remind me of Phoenix’s pop appeal and musicality with Klaxons’ falsetto vocals with Jamie Lidell’s white boy soul vibe and a touch of Maroon 5’s undeniable catchiness. Let’s wait and see what their album has in store for everyone.

Here is a 5 minute minimix from Luck on Strike, as a preview for their US tour but unfortunately they had to cancel the tour 🙁 I was so excited to see them live. Hopefully they will make it across the sea sometime in the near future.

Talking to BBC Radio 1, the band said: “It’s been a bit of a funny one because she’s in America and we’re over here. They’ve got this funny idea of what our band sounds like and we’ve done three or four different versions.

“We’ve made our own slant on a contemporary version of it. It’s an electronic version with guitars on it, with a twist of ‘Golden Skans’.”
