Boris Dlugosch – Bangkok

I remember hearing this tune as an opener for one of Erol Alkan’s Parklife sets that I downloaded a few weeks ago and I was blown away. I then heard it again on Busy P’s Essential mix and found out who this fantastic producer from Hamburg is. Boris Dlugosch has been around for quite a while and has even remixed Daft Punk’s “Digital Love” for their 2001 Daft Club internet releases. “Bangkok” is now out on Erol’s Phantasy Sounds, purchase it in its full 320 kbps glory at Beatport.

Also check out this fantastic interview with Erol at Loudandquiet.com. Erol is just a mad scientist genius living in his own world. I respect him so much for doing whatever the fuck he wants. I’m glad he understands this crazy bloghaus/banger world we live in. I cannot wait for more productions from this man.

“The reason Chemical Brothers (and Daft Punk) have had the success they’ve had is through their subtlety, their detail – it’s not mindless. Not to dismiss the current scene, but there is stuff that has got a bit too hard and a bit too mindless – if we’re not careful we’re only a few steps from Hard House or stuff like that. Let’s bring some funk back, let’s not just bang our heads on walls!”– Erol Alkan

Yeah Yeah Yeahs x A-Trak

A-Trak’s best remix to date. I love the synth bassline with that filter and the string stabs. Such classic sounding production techniques. This track has already been championed by Busy P, Erol Alkan and Co. down at Parklife in Aussie now it is all your turn to bump this track. Now I think it is time for some original tracks from Mr. A-Trak.

<3 u A-Trak

Housse de Racket x Gonzales + Side A: Funky Mixtape

Gonzales turns Housse de Racket’s “Synthétiseur” into a “Broadway/epic-the-world-is-mine” sounding tune. Love the guitar solo at the end – reminds me something Queen would do. When is the Gonzales cover/re-working of Erol Alkan & Boys Noize’s “Waves” coming out? Housse de Racket will be opening for Does It Offend You, Yeah? in the UK next week.

Pink Stallone, a cosmic disco pop duo from New Jersey crafted this Micromix for Asian Dan in honor of man’s first steps on the moon. They are championed by Erol Alkan and Late of the Pier. Asian Dan Interview: Pink Stallone

1. Who is Pink Stallone?

Pink Stallone is two jersey kids recording sound in the abandoned house of a science fiction writer (seriously).

2. How would you describe your music?

A celebration of the failures of Futurism, in an abandoned house of a science fiction writer.

Like your first love, only much better.

4. What is the NJ music scene like and how does it feel to be getting more attention overseas?

There’s a NJ music scene? We normally stay inside. It appears as if like-minded individuals from all over the world have developed a heightened ability to locate one another, and we are grateful that such a process has enabled us to become part of a scene much larger and less literal.

The Time And Space Machine

Erol Alkan’s psychedlic/krautrock partner in crime Richard Norris has another motor-riffic/kraut side project known as The Time And Space Machine. I love how all these big name producer/DJs like Erol and the Dewaele Bros are all coming out with Krautrock inspired side projects, connecting with the roots of dance music. Checkout Richard Norris’ new single as well as a 30 sec clip of Die Verboten, the Dewaele Bros and Riton’s Krautrock project.
