“My dream is that when people hear the music it will remind them of their youth,” explains Summer, “their childhood and the joy and wonderment they felt exploring their first pack of crayons.”
A number of collaborators have been roped in for what will be presumably be production duties on the album, including Danielle Brisebois, (The New Radicals), Greg Kurstin, (Lily Allen, Mutya, Peaches), JR Rotem, (The Game, Snoop Dogg) Lester Mendez, (Shakira, Nelly Furtado) and another called Evan Bogart who DiS has never heard of, but sure is impressed with his name.
The album will come out through Sony BMG imprint Burgundy Records on May 20th, and is the first new material since Mistaken Identity was released in 1991.
WHY ISN’T GIORGIO MORODER LISTED?! I hope he makes a surprise appearance. Justice will probably remix a track off the album. Justice Pitchfork Guest List
New music video for Life is Boring featuring some footage of them in the studio and on tour with Daft Punk in Japan. Later this week I will have an exclusive remix of a new Cazals track 🙂
Pivot! is the newest addition to the Warp Records family. I feel like they are trying to be the Battles of 2008 (They did open for them in Australia) but I think that is just because of this pic with all their crazy equipment. Their new songs on Myspace remind me of Fugazi covering Warp Records artists.
This is an old track of theirs which has an Album Leaf vibe to it.
You probably all know SymbolOne from being featured on Justice’s Xmas Mix/Rejected Fabric Mix with their track Love Juice. Check out a remix they did for Nid & Sancy a name almost as good as Wevie Stonder.
Boys Noize comes back again with a totally different sound, not particularly a direction that I like but still very interesting to hear. I still love his Apparat and Cut Copy Remixes.
I am really feeling this mix, especially Oh Snap!’s remix of Kenny Loggins and also the fact he ends with my favorite Doobie Brothers’ track, What a Fool Believes.
Tracklist: “Diddy Bop” – OH SNAP!! “No You Didn’t” – OH SNAP!! “Purple Lens Game (Bloody Beetroots Remix)” – Crookers “Bill Cosby Sweater (Hostage Remix)” – OH SNAP!! “Day ‘N’ Nite (Crookers Remix)” – Kid Cudi “Party People!!” – OH SNAP!! “Freak Night” – Hot Pink Delorean “Voyager (Revolte Remix)” – Daft Punk “I’m Too Fat to be a Hipster (ED ORABLE REMIX)” – OH SNAP!! “Show Me the Cucumber” – The Beatdoctors “Boot It Again (Mowgli Remix)” – The Chemical Brothers “Hollywood Hills (Cryptonites Remix)” – John Neilson “Footlose (OH SNAP!! No Dancing Allowed Remixx)” – Kenny Loggins “What’s Up What’s Up” – Miss Tony “What a Fool Believes” – The Doobie Brothers
Check out this fantastic remixes by Boston’s own Plus Move. The Kavinsky remix is amazing and the Mendetz remix reminds me of SebastiAn’s remix of The Rakes’ We Danced Together.
Xavier De Rosnay has jumped into the realm of producing rock bands a very tricky crossover for an electronic producer. Erol Alkan seems to be doing well especially with producing the Mystery Jets & Late of the Pier. Xavier seems to have taken the roll as an “auteur producer” sprinkling his magical Justice touch. This Poney Poney track off their upcoming EP has that Justice sound, just listen to the drum production and the guitar. Poney Poney are opening up for Sebastien Tellier in London at ICA.
This commercial has been around for a while but here is the extended version of the track from the Belvedere Vodka ad I just found floating around the internet. It is the return of Prince Vince.
