Holy Ghost! returns to their remix roots with this reworking of Monarchy’s “Love Get Out Of My Way” with the help of Berlin based producer Dixon. This time with a funky harpsichord and fat synth bassline that would make any late 70s/early 80s discotheque groove hard. This is definitely the heaviest production to come from Holy Ghost due in part to the fantastic drum solo that occurs during the bridge courtesy of Jerry Fuchs, RIP. Be sure to check out their live version of the duo in band form coming to a city near you.
1,2,3 are a LA duo by way of Pittsburgh, a band doing some interesting stuff within the guitar-rock world. Just listen to the first few seconds and you will hear some weird/cool production – chunky guitars, thick drums, and psychedelic poppy vox. The outro guitar part sounds so familiar – anyone have any ideas/

Caribou’s “Odessa” has been a sunshine/summer tune that has been on repeat for me. Somehow Caribou takes Four Tet’s angelic production, “Angel Echoes” and turns it into a dark and demonic, dancefloor devastating tune.

Mystery Jets return with yet more Pop magic. “Dreaming of Another World” is their first single off of Seratonin an apropos album title for a band that always seems to make me smile. And to accompany this bittersweet tune is this gorgeous music video. Enjoy. POSI-POP!
Spent all day letting the new Kanye song simmer and sit with me and I came to the verdict that it is blogworthy and quite good. It is Kanye doing what Kanye does and this time sampling King Crimson?! Sure! Why not?

So apparently Major Lazer & La Roux banger collab broke the Mad Decent server. I guess everyone is desperate for some new summer party jams and this is exactly what this mixtape is, nothing more nothing less. Connan Mockasin is Phantasy latest little muse/release, a freak-a-delic weirdo from New Zealand. I consider his album “Please Turn Me Into Snat” what the latest MGMT album should’ve been, instead of that mediocre watered down hippie jargon. And with acts like Connan and Tame Impala making quality psychedelic music I dunno why anyone would give the new MGMT a second listen. Connan Mockasin’s album is a fantastic way to spend to spend 36 minutes of your life so pick up the album here at Rough Trade.
Mystery Jets first single off of their upcoming pop opus, Brace Yourself is “Dreaming of Another World”. A 70s dream pop tune with a chorus that you have to let wash over you. I love that Pinglewood.com calls Mystery Jets – “Posi-pop” because their music just makes me feel so good about the world.

Apparently Stoner Rock is cool again with acts like Tame Impala making some moves with their fuzzed out psycho-delic Aussie rock. Wooden Shjips steps in and trips out the Mystery Jets’ polished pop sound and takes the tune to another world.
