Music Video : The Stepkids “Sweet Salvation”

The Stepkids debut their latest single “Sweet Salvation” along with this accompanying psychedelic 80s space-made-for-TV video. “Sweet Salvation” sounds like if Herbie Hancock in the early 80s decided to write the theme song to a PBS space educational show that premiered between Reading Rainbow and Mr. Rogers. It is oh-so-trippy and funky yet so smooth, enjoy.

S-Type : Billboard

The LuckyMe fam is finally unleashing S-Type’s “Billboard” into the world. When I first heard this tune on that massive Rustie Essential Mix I instantly knew that this was gonna be one of those tracks that every mainstream rapper/RnB artist would be fighting over to rhyme over, it is only a matter of time before this beat infects mainstream airwaves. Proper massif choon. #tarpkiller

Holy Ghost! : It Gets Dark

Holy Ghost! hints at the direction of their latest sonic direction with their track entitled “It Gets Dark”. They dig deeper into the dark New Order vibes that they touched upon on their self-titled album. There amazing ability to craft big hooks and choruses is still very evident on this track. Let us see where the duo goes from here.

LOL Boys x Todd Edwards

I’m just gonna say it, this is the remix of the year. Todd Edwards proves once again why he is “Todd the God” with this remix of the (RIP) LOL Boys’ “Changes”. Words do little to convey the #feels that this track brings to me. So just let the music hit you and allow Todd Edwards to be an instigator of instant emotions.

Nick Catchdubs : Crystal Park

Nick Catchdubs assembles quite a journey of a mixtape entitled “Crystal Park”. It is collection of vibed out tunes that represent the current musical climate as well as the weather that is falling upon us. Nick Catchdubs has a fantastic ability of assembling genres and tunes that I would usually not relate to but through the power of context and vibe I am instantly won over by the tracks. “Crystal Park” is a perfect example of such a mix. The magic moment of the mix is when he drops Miguel’s “Do You” and from there the mix just goes off.

Emil & Friends : “Royal Oats” EP + Minimix

“I sow my royal oats with you…”

Excited to announce that Emil & Friends is back with Kitsuné to release a “Royal Oats” (the track off the Kitsuné America Comp) along with a new track “Internal Affairs” and three fantastic remixes from some lovely internet homies of mine. Dubka provides a super slick disco funk remix, Radial turns the song into a big synth pop banger and DVNO transforms “Royal Oats” into a track that sounds like it should be the theme song to John Hughes 90s Ferris Bueller sequel that never came to be. Please give this mini-mix a listen that I helped put together and pick up the release October 22!

LOL Boys x CFCF

CFCF gets super meta on their remix of LOL Boys’ “Changes” as they sample Bruce Hornsby’s famous piano part that Tupac sampled on “Changes” – so this remix is a remix of a sample of a remix. #SOMETA

This remix EP is a massive collection of tracks and will be out October 16th via Friends of Friends. I am not gonna lie, the Todd Edwards remix is one of the best tracks I have heard this year, so everyone get excited and pre-order it now.

LOL Boys ‘Changes Remixes’ EP including remixes from Star Slinger, CFCF, Todd Edwards, Groundislava and GRANT.
