Little Boots x Todd Edwards

“Pure Fun” is the only way I can describe what Mr. Todd Edwards created with this remix of Little Boots’ latest single “Headphones”. Todd digs in with a deep 2-step shuffle that explodes into a huge Pop chorus with “la la’s” that will be stuck in your head all day. This is a perfect summer jam.

Spank Rock x Shuttle

Shuttle has landed once again with a new re-working of Spank Rock and Santigold’s “Car Song” – a serious clash of Baltimore minds. Shuttle transforms “Car Song” into a dark hip-hop club banger that just gets me excited for Shuttle’s full length release which will hopefully be out soon.

PS. This is still an amazing remix.

Kindness – Live @ Le Poisson Rouge – 3.17.2012

I caught Kindness down at the Fader Fort down at SXSW back in March and was very excited to see the live rendition of Adam Bainbridge’s project. Kindness did not come with their A-game at SXSW, granted it was their third show as a band and they did not have a proper soundcheck, I was mildly disappointed. I am a forgiving person and decided to give them a second chance and caught them live last night at Le Poisson Rouge at Josh & Dave P’s Fixed party. My experience was far from what I heard and saw down at SXSW, for they put on one of the most fun and entertaning shows I have been to in a while.

Julio Bashmore : Au Seve

“Fast cars, money, but no record label to truly call my own? This ends today… ” – Julio Bashmore

Julio Bashmore has taken his life into his own hands and is launching his own imprint, Boardwalk Records. The first release is his own tune “Au Seve” – a track that delves deeper into Julio’s bass filled house of a mind. Read more about Julio’s label here. Massif choons coming soon.

Yeasayer : Henrietta

This is the first of new music from Yesayer, a cerebral pop tune that washes over you with synths and a tight bass and drum groove. It may not be over the top pop single that “Ambling Alp” was but it does have an epic sweeping outro that calls out to this Henrietta. Good to see that Yeasayer checked off “write a song with a female name” from their musical to-do-list. I am intrigued to hear the rest of their new tunes.

Music Video : Kindness “House”

So self-aware. So meta. It is on that Sesame Street level. Brilliant.
