The self-titled album by Das Pop is finally coming out 4.20.2009, produced by the Dewaele Brothers (Soulwax). It is pop rock goodness at its best. I love their artwork, it is so Pop Art. Ha.
Soulwax.info posted the official music video for Samantha Fu’s “Theme from Discotheque”, a moniker of the Dewaele Brothers. Classic track. Check it out after the jump.
Toronto’s own AutoErotique rework Shinichi Osawa’s Chemical Brothers cover of “Star Guitar” giving it that extra kick and bang for the club. I feel it.
“John Frusciante (Legendary guitarist of the RHCP) & Aaron Funk (Venetian Snares) are joining forces for the first time to bring us a live 303 & 808 analogue show as…SPEED DEALER MOMS” – Bangface Weekender ’09
“All of our tunes are too long to fit on the side of a record or in a myspace player, so you have to imagine what they sound like. That might be better anyways because you could imagine them to sound however you like!” – Speed Dealer Moms
For everyone who has been wondering what Justice has been up to here is some of their latest work, producing for the French DJ quartet, Birdy Nam Nam. Classic Justice production from the drums to the synth samples. This is the closing track to Birdy Nam Nam’s new album “Manual for Succesful Rioting” out 1.12.2009.
So I got this email from Emil & Friends back in November but never checked out the tracks attached. Waves At Night and Hyperbole both posted tracks by Emil & Friends recently. I am quite impressed and am going to jump on the bandwagon. They have a MGMT vibe hence the “Electric Feel” Cover/Remix meets blogosphere’s favorites, Passion Pit, but better. I checked out their EP, Downed Economy and am really loving it. Check out the title track “Downed Economy” which has this slick electro vibe. Other tracks on the EP remind me of old John Frusciante. I’m gonna be watching out for these guys this year 🙂
Here is the email I received from Emil & Friends back in November. Ha:
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to tip you all off on the hot new project of international film star Emile Hirsch. You can check out his myspace at myspace.com/emilandfriends.
In case you are not privy to the superstardom that is Emile Hirsch here’s a brief bio. As a kid he attended the The Hamilton Academy of Music and The Performing Arts in Los Angeles. Now he is often seen singing karaoke alongside Lindsay Lohan, Bo Barrett, Michelle Rodriguez, Kellan Rhude and Nicole Richie at Beverly Hills hot spot “Guys”.
The Man Himself,
Emile Hirsch.
PS. Considerer yourself honored to have received a personal email from a star of my caliber.
