Bullion’s “Young Heartache” EP was one of the most refreshing and most listened to pieces of music in 2009 for me. The way Bullion samples classic 60s tracks and recontextualizes them into hypnotic beats and grooves is quite a talent and he returns with “Say Goodbye to What” – a psycho-delic revisioning of who knows what sample, it is just some feel good stuff.
An impressive mini mix for a band that is not known for their DJ skills. A little Daft Punk, The Rapture, Fake Blood, and Cassius does a body good.

This new Breakbot tune has been making it rounds in the blogosphere, a track that was part of that Ed Banger Xmas Promo – definitely your typical Breakbot production style but with more of a Chromeo-esque synth pop vibe esp with the vocoder vox. I definitely see this whole disco synth pop sound being a big thing in Twenty-Ten with Classixx, Breakbot, Holy Ghost! and Chromeo leading the entire movement.

Italy’s Misery Peat is on a quest to show the world that Italy can produce great garage/post-dub music just like the UK. Check out Misery Peat’s intentions with his tune “Droopy”.
“I’ve been listening to a lot of artists on Modern Love Records as well as Joy Orbison and Floating Points – I just want to combine all these genres of garage, post-dub, grime with an Italian electro spin.”
The Danger that we all love and know returns with 4h30 a track that is quite refreshing for Danger, still very 8-bit sounding but more in the vain of Kavinksy (another artist I am looking forward to with his “PCH EP” with a remix by Jackson & His Computer Band) Twenty-Ten the return of the blog-haus French empire?! We shall see..
An opera about Charles Darwin? Of course The Knife would be invovled. The Knife teamed up with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock for this bold project. Check out “Colouring Of Pigeons” an 11 min opus that has a danceable Balinese Gamelan sound with beautiful strings.
Ali Love’s next single is “Love Harder” that that summons the likes of Vangelis, Prince, Jan Hammer and Depeche Mode. A dark love tune that evokes the images of neon lights reflecting on a wet pavement city street. The chorus reminds me of the Giorgio Moroder produced Freddie Mercury tune “Love Kills”. Bravo once again Mr. Dubka & co.
Some new smooth electro pop goodness from Allure feat the singer of Fancy Toys, Mickaël Téo. I especially like the guitar part in the tune.
