Miami Horror – Sometimes

Miami Horror’s new single ‘Sometimes’ is the first single off the debut album ‘Illumination’ out early 2010. It is a smooth electro-pop tune that really showcases Miami Horror’s songwriter side while still keeping it quite dancefloor friendly. I still love Miami Horror’s remix of PNAU’s “Embrace” that he did with Fred Falke – I want more from that duo!

Luca C. & Ali Love: October 2009 Mix

Luca C. and Ali Love team up to craft this latest mix for the fall. It is a nice balance of cosmic/Italo Disco with some 90s sounding house – they even drop some Azari & III and Holy Ghost!.

Also check out Ali Love’s new single “Diminishing Returns”, here – a track that Luca co-wroteand Dubka helped out on. I love it. I am looking forward to the Azari & III remix of this track! Looking forward to the Ali Love’s new album which is also produced by Dubka and co-written with Luca. Check out Dubka’s Myspace Blog for album updates.

Phoenix x Shuttle

Shuttle is a remixing/producing machine – from working on his own tracks or remixing tracks under Passion Pit’s name, he is just constantly pumping out tracks. Listen to this great reworking of “Love Like a Sunset” – LOUD. Nate promised Asian Dan an exclusive mix so be on the look out for that soon!

“Our good friend Shuttle sent us this fantastic remix of “Love Like A Sunset” and we’d like to share it with all of you. As well as releasing records as shuttle, he also plays drums in Passion Pit as “Nate”! His new album will be out later this year.”-Phoenix Diary

Thom Yorke & Co. Live in LA

I wish I was in LA for this epic convergence of musical minds – Thom Yorke and Flea on one stage together – two musical geniuses that are responsible for making me fall in love with music. Thom’s new band featuring Flea, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker (Beck/R.E.M.), and Mauro Refosco (David Byrne/The Lounge Lizards) took stage on 10.2.2009 for an intimate “rehearsal” show at Echoplex – Daft Punk was in attendance. If I was at this show I would be crying – Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Daft Punk in the same room=Heaven. From what I have seen via the interwebs on youtube, the band is extremely tight and Flea adds a dubby vibe that Jah Wobble would be proud of. Also, watching Flea and Thom dance is like watching a hobbit dance off. Check out some fantastic quality videos from this performance after the jump. If you are lucky enough to be in LA tonight check out Thom & Co’s final performance at the Orpheum.

Phoenix: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (Remix Collection)

I am so happy for Phoenix – after years of putting out amazing music they have finally received the recognition and respect they deserve. And now there is is proof by having all their contemporary musical peers remix / re-vision their music. Genius business model – that is genuine, sincere, and just a great way to showcase the depth of their music. Looking forward to the Two Doors Cinema Club, 25 Hours a Day, and Boombass remixes.

I have never been a fan of Animal Collective – interesting take on this epic journey of a tune. Animal Collective turns the song into a meditative, Indian sounding tune with Thomas Mars’ vocals looped over like a mantra over some tabla sounding percussion.

Check out what Animal Collective has to say about Phoenix here.
