Midnight Star – Close Encounter (Eddie Mars Edit)
“The Vietcong Disco met over the course of a five year lethal party ring in a compelling story of emigration (from several corners of the earth) to little known bushwick, brooklyn. Since conception, Vietcong DJs have distinguished the booths and floors of scanty-manhattanite clubs, dance halls, and raves, from outer borough warehouse parties to the infamous Leopard Lounge and Wednesday Never Ends weekly. Their polyphonic diversity has been attributed to a brisk array of ethnicities, arranged by godfather Eddie Mars. He choreographs the gang: DJ Robert Redford, fly-by-night Malcolm LaSalle and Charles Damga, bringing you never before heard disco tracks, from better decades past, when war and torment were shortlisted by dance-culture, sexuality and flashy good looks.”
