Justice & Busy P – Live @ The Paradise – Boston, MA – 3.15.2008
Just Busy P opened for Justice, no Fancy which was disappointing and Justice only spun without their Marshall Stacks and crazy synth machine, “Valentine” or ableton programmd “live” set. And to top it off no light up cross!!! It looked like it was going to be a disappointing and overpriced show. Busy P came on at 9 and spun for a little over and hour and dropped a bunch of tracks from the Ed Banger Family, including a new Busy P track and SebastiAn’s Motor which will most likely be on the Ed Banger Rec Vol III coming out May 19. Justice opened with Richard Strauss’ “Also Sprach Zarathustra”, setting the tone for the epic 2 and 1/2 hour dj set to come. Their set was like an electro/house history lesson, they dropped Human Resource’s Dominator (Joey Beltram Remix) and Outlander’s The Vamp, Prodigy’s Smack My Bitch up and Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix). Their were a few screw ups like when their CD player trying to play a new remix of Stress started skipping. They closed with The Foundations’ “Build Me Up Buttercup” which led to a chant of We Are Your Friends for an encore. They opened the encore with a new mix of We Are Your Friends with some new piano part backing the acapella track which sounded like a Queen track which then led into Rage Against The Machine’s Killing In The Name. Overall a fantastic set but not worth the $50.
