Kindness has made a few appearances on the blog these past few months and is definitely number one on my albums to look forward to in 2012. The LP will be out March 19 which includes “Gee Up”, the first impression we got of Kindness back in 2009 in an even more lo-fi demo version. This updated video for “Gee Up” delves into a super pomo/meta world that give a super lolzy look into the music industry – I love everything about it.

I will be honest and say that Fort Lean is my favorite band of 2011 and all they have released was a free 4 track EP. I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with them twice this year while playing with Emil & Friends and they always impress me. I always end up singing along to their songs in the crowd. Their latest video for “Beach Holiday” shows what a LOLzy band they are. Pure fun tunes. Looking forward to their future releases and more sing alongs.

Fort Lean are one of the very few bands that are amazing songwriters, musicians, performers and all around good people. We, Emil & Friends had the pleasure of sharing a bill with them a few weeks ago and I must say they put on quite a rock show. I hope to play with them in the near future. Till then I suggest to you all to try to catch them live sometime during CMJ.
