M.T. Hadley : There Isn’t A Window I Won’t Look Out Of

M.T. Hadley is my favorite songwriter as of late. A songwriter that offers heavy, honest, insightful, fun and smart songs that are always stuck in my head. His 2019 debut album “Empty” is still in heavy rotation on my end and offered a touch of 70s pop class with 80s synth production – everything I am a sucker for.

His new EP “There Isn’t A Window That I Won’t Look Out Of” is out today and he describes it as “a collection of four classic pop songs recorded solely on instruments over 400 years old including the violin. It gleams and glistens as it deftly slices through the ????????????????ℙ???? ???????????? ????????????????ℙ???? of the modern, whizzing pop which surround it.” A beautiful and soothing collection of songs that are a perfect follow up to his polished and well produced album. The EP closes with a fun cover of Robert Wyatt’s “Signed Curtain”.

Dance System : Where’s The Party At?

A full on nostalgic club banger record full of collabs and sounds that will remind us of why we truly miss clubs in 2020. Dance System fka L-Vis 1990 teams up with India Jordan, Hudson Mohawke, A-Trak, Lauren Flax and many more on each track – a big way to usher in his new label, System Records.

“The mixtape follows the narrative of a banging party (featuring interludes of smoking area chat and general crowd ambience), a touch that feels all the more poignant in a time when parties are still out of reach. As Connolly explains, “We can’t go to the club, and we can’t play out, so it’s taken me full circle, back to those teenage days in my bedroom; lying in bed with my headphones on listening to music. Back then, I had to imagine what clubs were like and now the whole world is in the same situation; it’s all out of reach and we can only go there in our imagination.” – System Records

Dean Blunt : Raven’s Theme / Siege (Disasterpiece OST)

Dean Blunt surprises us with two new tracks that accompany a screenplay he wrote entitled “Disasterpiece”. “Raven’s Theme” samples a chopped and screwed Lauryn Hill and “Siege” is a hypnotic cybergrunge sounding track that I could listen to on repeat all night. Download both tracks for free now.

Dance System & Hudson Mohawke : Hands In The Air

Dance System fka L-Vis 1990 and Hudmo team up for a track that is pure fun. It is a track that taps into Junior Senior “Move Your Feet”, Armand Van Helden “You Don’t Even Know Me” and all the pop elements of Basement Jaxx thrown into a song that is just under 3 mins. Allow the joy into your life.

TUKIO Presents GOODNIGHT RADIO 008 : Bloghaus Redux 2020

The final installment of GOODNIGHT RADIO for the year has arrived. Volume 8. BLOGHAUS REDUX 2020. A mix that taps into the energy of that era when URL truly met IRL in a very special way. It features some of my favorite tracks from that time along with some new ones that fit the spirit — all while still feeling relevant to the now. A matured and grown Bloghaus.

Jam City : Pillowland

Jam City has finally returned after a 5 years since his genre defining and massively inspiring sophomore album “Dream A Garden”. “Pillowland” takes everything he has learned from his foray into the pop production world and fuses them with his insanely big production he is known for from his “Classical Curve” days along with some much needed guitar shredding. His mixes and production style on the album should not work on paper but his brand of hyperpop, glam and soul is exactly thing we never knew we needed. I am on my 6th listen in the past 24 hours – so as you can tell I am a big fan 😉

Orphx : Fragmentation

“Fragmentation” is a reissue of the 1996 album by the trio Orphx, out now on Prurient’s label Hospital Productions. It is truly a relentless take on industrial, noise and black metal – still sounding modern with its remastering by Joshua Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv). “Sepsis” is a favorite track with its rolling and hypnotic train like percussion and drum work.
