Daniel Aged : Home_Lost
Daniel Aged is readying his second solo album “You Are Protected By Silent Love”. “Home_Lost” is a slinky and hazy microfunk tune that showcases his R&B/Gospel roots alongside a modern electronic production.

Para One first song in 7 years is finally here. “Shin Sekai” is an intersection of all his loves and passions – music, film, anime and Japanese culture. I was lucky enough to spend time with Para One in Tokyo when he was there finishing recording the live taiko drums that are featured on this track. “Shin Sekai” is his ode to Japan and how it left an imprint on him. “Machines of Loving Grace” is an expansive and eclectic album that showcases his full sonic spectrum.
The always angular, jarring and chaotic black midi unveils two new tracks from their upcoming album “Cavalcode”. “John L” is everything you expect from the band with its tight syncopation and unison performance that stops on a dime. The accompanying music video is โa jet black comedy about what happens to cult leaders when their followers turn on them.โ It is directed by the choreographer Nina McNeely who worked on Gaspar Noe’s “Climax”. “Despair” is an unexpected ballad that showcases a sweeter and harmonic side of the band – King Krule would approve. And of course the artwork is done by the one and only David Rudnick.
An extremely slinky and gorgeous new track from Andy Stott has emerged. Everything glides and floats over an airy drum machine. The lazy and naive sounding bass guitar fits in perfectly supporting the very shoegaze synths and ethereal female vocals. This is exactly what I need to hear from music this very moment.
“Life A Good Old Friend” is Vegyn’s most focused release he has put together. A perfect collection of melancholic and introspective tracks. They all veer into interesting spaces and directions. The title track is a standout to me.
Devin Sarno’s latest LP has arrived. It is a beautiful and expansive collection of songs that soothes the mind and soul. Allow “Evocation” be the escape and medicine we all need to escape all the things weighing us down in the world in 2021.
Boys Noize and Corbin are a very unlikely pairing but it works nonetheless. Corbin croons over Boys Noize’s haunting synth work that evolves into a massive techno breakbeat..
Nick Hakim & Roy Nathanson are the first up the new Onyx Collective label NYXO Records. “Moonman” is a beautiful and soulful ballad that cuts deep – I expected no less from this collection of musicians. Looking forward to what else they have in store.
Mykki Blanco returns with a soulful track with the help of FaltyDL and Hudson Mohawke – a very exciting team to be collaborating with. Expect more from Mykki & Falty soon ๐
Goodnight Radio returns for 2021. The first mix of the year is here to help ease us all into warmer times. See you there. โ
